At the time of his sealing in the Nauvoo Temple in 1846 he said he was born in Elizabethtown, New York. In Milo’s autobiography, which he wrote in the 1870s, he said he was born at Wilmington, New York (which area was actually Jay township at the time). The fact is he may not have know exactly where he was born as his family was evicted from a rented farm just 6 weeks before he was born.

Milo in 1839 moved to Adams County, Illinois I believe to Big Neck Creek where he owned land. This is where Abagail Jane Daley’s family lived. Milo’s Aunt and Uncle, Mary or Polly Smith and Uriah Handcock, lived just three miles away in Lorain, Adam’s County, Illinois.

Milo did not move to Nauvoo until some time after 1840.

Milo moved to Winter Quarters and is called on a mission to England and takes his new wife with him and returns to Utah as a company commander in 1850

At the time the Halfway House was built Milo was gone on a mission to England.
