Schedule of Events

Pancake Breakfast

  • Time: 8:30 – 10 am
  • Place: Liberty Park, Rice Terrace Pavilion
  • Cost: Suggested donation is $5.00 per family

Business Meeting

  • Time: 10 – 11 am
  • Place: Liberty Park, Rice Terrace Pavilion

The business meeting will include:

  • Genealogical research update
  • Election of new officers (president and vice-president)
  • Financial report
  • Reports from wife line representatives
  • Other family business and announcements
  • Preview of the events of the rest of the day

Lunch with Your Wife Line

  • Time: 11:30 am – 1 pm
  • Place: Liberty Park

During this time you can look forward to getting to know your family better, conducting wife line business, talking genealogy, playing games and, of course, eating.

Suggested activities:

Milo-Related Activities

  • Check out the displays of family pictures and memorabilia
  • Visit Milo’s grave in Holladay, the Andrus Halfway House at “This Is The Place” Heritage Park (entrance fee), or other Andrus related sites in the Salt Lake City area (print a copy of the driving tour here; copies will also be available at the reunion)

Liberty Park Activities

  • Rent paddle boats on Liberty Park Lake
  • Feed the ducks
  • Play horseshoes, softball, volleyball, football, or soccer (Liberty Park has recreation kits avaiable that include two softballs, two bats, a volleyball, a volleyball net, a set of horseshoes, a football, and a soccer ball; $5 rental fee)
  • Swim at the pool (entrance fee)
  • Visit Tracy Aviary (open 9am – 5pm, visit tracyaviary.org for admission prices)
  • Visit the Chase Museum of Utah Folk Arts (open 2 – 7pm, free admission, visit their website for more information)
  • Play in the Seven Canyons fountain (a maze of water which starts at a small pool and ends at a water fountain)
  • Ride the amusement park rides (chair swings, merry-go-round, Ferris wheel, etc.; entrance fee)
  • Play at the playground (slides, swings, sandbox and a tree house)
  • Visit the concession stand
  • Relax and take a nap under a tree

Pioneer Games

  • Time: 3 – 4:30 pm
  • Place: Liberty Park, Rice Terrace Pavilion
  • Activities: treasure hunt, egg toss, string games, yo-yo contest, three legged races, sack races, foot races by age, stick and hoop races, coloring and painting pictures, making sock and yarn dolls and buzz saw string toys , and wood carving
  • Prizes will be awarded to game winners.

Dinner

  • Time: 4:30 – 5:45 pm
  • Place: Liberty Park, Rice Terrace Pavilion
  • Cost: Suggested donation is $5.00 per family

Dinner will include: hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, drinks, and brownies.

The pavilion can seat 200, but if you have recreational/camp chairs, please bring them.

Program

  • Time: 6 – 8 pm
  • Place: Liberty Park, Rice Terrace Pavilion

Program will include:

  • Performance by the Milo Andrus Family Orchestra
    (if you are interested in being a part of the family orchestra, click here for more details; we welcome all skill levels; please respond by June 1, 2011)
  • “The Life and Wives of Milo Andrus” — a readers’ theater play about Milo Andrus and each of his wives

We encourage everyone to stay around after the program to visit, share stories, view displays, and so on.
