Milo’s Mission Journal – Liverpool England – 1849 to 1850

Milo served his first mission to England from 1848 to 1850. He served as the president of the Liverpool conference. He arrived in Liverpool in July of 1848 and sailed home on January 11, 1850. He traveled with his second wife, Sarah Miles. Their first son, Milo Jr., was born in Liverpool.

In his autobiography, Milo summarizes his mission this way: “During my stay in the Liverpool Conference there were three new branched organized, and between two and three hundred added to the Church by baptism. I baptized thirty in one evening.”

The document below is a transcription of Milo’s journal covering February 1849 to May 1850. The original journal can be found in the LDS Church History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
